Energy Efficiency Technician Application

At SunCrop Solar & Energy Solutions, our mission is to support low to moderate income households save money, increase comfort, and be resilient to our changing climate through home energy efficiency and solar power.  

We are a small, family-run business that is currently growing and needs to expand our team. An ideal candidate will want to learn and grow with us as the business expands.

The majority of our work involves weatherizing homes including attic insulation and repairing air and duct leakage. We also install residential and small commercial solar systems and other general contracting and carpentry projects.  

Job Description

Position will be approximately 35-40 hours per week.  

The work day usually begins at 7:30 am and finishes between 2:00 and 5:00 pm depending on the scope of work for the day, travel time to and from job sites, and the season and/or weather.  Our team typically works Monday through Friday with occasional work on Saturdays to complete projects or accommodate other scheduling needs.  

The energy efficiency technician will primarily complete weatherization work on residential homes.  This work includes auditing homes for energy efficiency issues, repairing broken or leaking ductwork, installing attic insulation and fixing minor air sealing issues.  

The energy efficiency technician will assist with home energy audits and perform functions such as blower door diagnostics, insulation assessment, and installation of energy-saving measures such as light bulbs, showerheads, and faucet aerators.  

The energy efficiency technician may assist with the installation of residential and small commercial solar photovoltaic systems including the installation of racking, panels, inverters, batteries and rough wiring.  

The energy efficiency technician will always work with a certified home energy expert who will supervise their work and provide guidance.

The energy efficiency technician will always follow company health and safety expectations and industry safety standards to protect him/herself, co-workers, others, and property from injury or damage.  

The energy efficiency technician will work in people’s homes showing care and consideration for those living there, their property, and their privacy.  The technician will always ensure we clean up any dust and/or debris we create on jobsites and remove all waste from the site.  

The energy efficiency technician will assist with the maintenance of and be responsible for the cleanliness of company equipment including trucks, trailers, generators, and insulation blowers. 

Qualifications

-High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

-Reliable transportation
